Ecology and Environment Inc. Launches Web-Based Platform to Connect Commuters

Ecology and Environment, Inc., (E & E) has announced the global launch of GreenRide Connect, a state-of-the-art Web-based platform that facilitates more sustainable transportation matches for commuters.

GreenRide Connect was been developed to reduce as a single-passenger vehicle use by connecting commuters. This web-based platform identifies individual options for carpools, vanpools, bicycling, park-and-ride facilities and public transit. It has been implemented at the multinational, national, municipal and organizational level.

Tony Gale, E & E program director for GreenRide, said that they are committed to developing an efficient use of existing transportation infrastructure, which may save billions of dollars and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and time spent in traffic. He added that the GreenRide initiative is highly personalized, with Web and GIS technology-enabled ride matching capabilities, which can help regions, cities and organizations save money, reduce their environmental impact and improve their citizens’ overall quality of life.

Currently, GreenRide Connect has been implemented in 22 states across the U.S., as well as in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

GreedRide Connect can be used across different geographical locations with a suitable map base. Users can follow the tracking of their environmental, energy and economic savings, while being able to manage and participate in commute challenge and incentive programs. This web-based platform can be implemented as either a stand-alone rideshare program or as part of a fully integrated Transportation Demand Management solution.

GreenRide can be upgraded from countrywide implementations to metropolitan planning organizations, departments of transportation, toll authorities, transit authorities, cities, counties, states, large employers, universities and specialty transportation providers.

GreenRide solutions are effective in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, traffic congestion and dependency on non-renewable energy sources.

GreenRide features personalized weather and traffic alerts, social network integration, toll lane management and verification, and access via smart phones.
