Green Technology -Logicalis Joins Green Grid


It’s a commitment towards better Earth, it’s a commitment to consume less power and save more for the future generations. The Green Grid involves prestigious names like Intel, Dell (News - Alert), Novell, HP, Cisco and many more. Now, Logicalis, an international provider of integrated Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions, has joined in this noble cause.
 
With the other partners in Green Grid, Logicalis will work towards lowering the overall consumption of power in data centers around the globe. It will help its customers to reduce their carbon footprint and provide subsidized environmental impact training. The company will also shortly start a research survey that will analyze the impact of IT sector on the environmental issues.
 
This is not the first time Logicalis is getting involved in an environmental project. Earlier, the company received an accreditation in ISO14001 environmental standards for its work in reducing the global warming through intelligent use of IT infrastructure. Tom Kelly, Managing Director, Logicalis UK said the company was looking forward to work with partners like IBM, Cisco, Microsoft (News - Alert), HP and BT — and other technical experts globally, for efficient and improved practices in using the environment we live in.
 
The Green Grid (News - Alert) is a consortium of information technology companies and professionals seeking to improve energy efficiency in data centers around the globe. The Green Grid takes a broad-reaching approach to data center efficiency focusing on data center “power pillars” that span the gamut of technology, infrastructure and processes present in today’s data center environments. The consortium’s working focus includes research, standards writing, published studies and continuing education.
