AMG Resources Selects Konica Minolta to go Paperless

All over the world, environmentally conscious companies are making various efforts to save the land where we live.

Continuing that effort, AMG Resources Corporation announced it has selected Konica Minolta (News - Alert) Business Solutions U.S.A., to support its initiative of becoming a paperless office with the implementation.

The company will make use of Konika's PRISM DocRecord to achieve its goal. PRISM DocRecord is an electronic document management software that helps companies manage information more quickly and cost-effectively, saving time and effort by capturing information seamlessly from anywhere on its network.

By adopting an electronic document management system, AMG Resources could save time and money and more effectively manage company operations. PRISM DocRecord has enabled AMG Resources to move approximately 28,000 paper files to the new electronic database and expects to eliminate nearly 60,000 paper files by the end of 2010. Given the company already operates on Konica Minolta bizhub MFPs, selecting PRISM DocRecord was a logical solution.

"We are pleased to be working with AMG Resources to support their transition to a paperless office and eliminate their heavy reliance on paper filing,' said Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. "PRISM DocRecord highlights the fact that customers can count on Konica Minolta to meet both their output and digital imaging solution needs to improve overall document workflow."

AMG Resources has also transitioned file exchange to the electronic document management system with external customers, plant managers and sales contacts using PRISM DocRecord. Incoming faxes are sent directly to the electronic filing system and sorted according to barcodes that identify the locations of specific folders.

Recently, Konarka Technologies, Inc., a major player in development and commercialization of Konarka Power Plastic, a material that converts light to energy, signed a comprehensive R&D collaboration and strategic investment agreement with Konica Minolta. In a release, officials with Konica Minolta said that the companies reached agreement to start full-scale collaboration in April in the joint development and distribution of organic thin-film photovoltaics.
