Piedmont Town Center Recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council



The U.S. Green Building Council has honored the two office towers at Piedmont Town Center in SouthPark with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
 
With 415,000 square feet of office space in two towers, 75,000 square feet of retail space and about 180 luxury residential units, Piedmont Town Center is a mixed-use project. Its office component includes the headquarters of Piedmont Natural Gas and features two eight-story buildings with nearby parking, shopping, dining and recreation.
 
“The LEED Gold rating puts the office towers among Charlotte’s elite green facilities,” Pam Padgett, vice president of property management for Crescent Resources, said. “We’re thrilled Piedmont Town Center has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council.”
 
For existing buildings operations and maintenance program, Piedmont Town Center, owned by Principal Real Estate Investors, was certified under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED. The prime aim of the program is to maximize efficiency while minimizing environmental impacts through cleaning, maintenance, recycling and systems upgrades.
 
The Crescent Resources property management team, over the past 16 months has worked diligently to achieve LEED certification. The project’s LEED consultant was LORD Green Real Estate Strategies, Inc., a Dallas company that specializes in greening existing buildings.
 
The project’s commissioning services were provided by Houston-based Transwestern. It also ensured that all the building systems and components were designed, installed, operated and maintained efficiently.
 
Piedmont Town Center, located in the heart of the SouthPark community, provides the best in open-air retail mixed with stylish residential space, office facilities and structured parking.
 
Crescent Resources, LLC is a land management and real estate development company with interests in 10 states in the southeastern and southwestern United States.
 
In related news, the representatives from Pinnacle Services have attained LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council for their headquarters located at 724 Central Avenue NE in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
