Avaya Picks CarbonView to Manage Carbon Emissions

Viewlocity Technologies recently announced that Avaya (News - Alert), an international provider of enterprise communications systems and solutions, had chosen Viewlocity Technologies' CarbonView solution to effectively gauge and track their carbon emissions for the company's worldwide operations.

CarbonView is a carbon management and accounting solution that aims to bring about significant improvements in data collation and evaluation for Greenhouse Gas Protocol scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions for Avaya. The solution is also expected to optimize energy efficiency and carbon emission projects.

According to Geoffrey Baird, vice president of Product Operations and Sustainability Officer at Avaya, the company was looking for the right tools to support internal sustainability goals while keeping employees focused on core competencies.

“This system will provide cost effective data collection and management of carbon emission data. CarbonView provides the information and decision support tools necessary to manage our carbon emissions and prioritize carbon abatement projects. CarbonView will be a fundamental tool for the continuous improvement of our sustainability practices across our global operations,” Baird said.

The CarbonView offering will help Avaya in evaluating their carbon emissions and correctly determining the areas for significant reductions. This identification of critical hotspots is key to achieving major reductions in carbon emissions for the company.
