NEC Display Solutions of America has reportedly announced a standard-aspect desktop display, intended for use in business environments such as IT, corporate and education.

Calling the new MultiSync LCD175M an “eco-conscious” IT monitor that consumes up to 42 percent less power than its predecessors, Lynn Gu, product manager at NEC (News - Alert) Display Solutions, said that this display will help any business operation to become green, as it uses the same likeable features of the MultiSync 5 Series but with a more energy-efficient approach.

In addition to being compliant with ENERGY STAR (News - Alert) 5.0 and TCO 5.0, the energy-efficient 17-inch MultiSync LCD175M monitor features an EPEAT Gold rating, said company officials. The compliance with ENERGY STAR 5.0 and TCO 5.0 certifies its eco-friendly stature, said company officials.

Moreover, the newest offering’s ECO Mode technology enables users to maneuver between two energy-savings modes. In addition, it allows the calculation of power consumption savings for the monitor’s carbon footprint meter. Plus, the monitor features a new power circuit design that achieves 0.4W power in power savings mode and power off, said company officials.

The LCD175M is certified for Windows 7, XP and Vista, and it’ll begin shipping this month. Company officials said that the display ships with a standard three-year parts and labor warranty, including the backlight.

Itasca, Ill.-based NEC Display Solutions of America is a designer and provider of desktop LCD monitors, commercial-and professional-grade large-screen LCD displays, a diverse line of multimedia and digital cinema projectors, and integrated display solutions.

In other news, the company last month added three new desktop monitors to its AccuSync Series. And recently it introduced NP610 entry-level installation projector, designed especially for those users who require “incredible” image quality with advanced capabilities. The company said the NP610 is geared particularly towards those users at the university level, as well as corporate environments, for areas such as training rooms, lecture halls and conference rooms.
