With financial worries clouding many individuals’ heads and paychecks, the upcoming holiday season has been said to be more of a looming worry this year a joyous occasion it should be.
As many are out of jobs, or taking pay cuts, budgeting during the holiday seasons can be more than difficult. Many families are scaling back on gift giving this year, cutting out presents entirely, cancelling travel plans, or finding new ways to make it a special, yet affordable holiday.
However, Kashless.org, the world’s largest free online marketplace and community, and Recycle Bank, the world’s premier currency for rewarding
green actions,
have teamed up to offer individuals a new way to make the holidays as enjoyable as any, without burning a hole in your wallet.
The new initiative, “Kashless Rewards,” is a program that rewards consumers for going green and recycling items online at Kashless.org.
Effective immediately, anyone can go on to the Web site, post or pick up any quality second-hand item on Kashless.org, and earn points that can be redeemed for gift cards, travel discounts, apparel, restaurants, groceries and a variety of other products and events at hundreds of local and national retailers.
And, since wallets are tight, this is a good solution for individuals looking to not only find creative ways for the holiday gift giving season, but also provide to others in need and recycle belongings and make for a greener environment.
Company officials said that quality items can range from second-hand clothes to blankets to food to electronics to entertainment to furniture to toys. “Just about anything taking up space around your house or garage,” company officials added.
In addition to earning points by listing or picking up items on Kashless.org, anyone can earn points by inviting friends to participate and by creating saved searches.
Martin Tobias, CEO and founder of Kashless.org, said that the program is an easy way for people to go green for the holidays by recycling and reusing items online that may otherwise be headed to a landfill.
“This year go Kashless and give, receive, earn great rewards, and most important, make a real difference in someone`s holiday season,” Tobias said.
The Kashless Rewards program is powered by RecycleBank. “RecycleBank started by rewarding people for recycling and we are excited by the opportunity to now extend our rewards program to reward people for the reuse of goods,” Ron Gonen, co-founder and CEO of RecycleBank, said.
