Greenstone Carbon Management, which provides carbon solutions, carbon management software, reduction advice and consultancy services, announced that it has been identified as the leading U.K. provider and a global Challenger brand in the Verdantix Green Quadrant report that details carbon management software market.
The report, conducted by Verdantix, an independent business research firm focused on climate change, carbon markets and corporate responsibility, is designed to help potential customers gain greater insight into their own requirements and the offerings of the main vendors in this relatively new market.
The Verdantix report highlights the increasing client demand for carbon management software and identifies Greenstone as one of the software providers coming to the fore in addressing these needs, company officials said.
Greenstone was included in the report after it demonstrated that its carbon management software meets Verdantix’s extensive functional criteria, that it is capable of meeting the requirements of firms with revenues of $1 billion or more and that it has a well-established customer base.
The report finds that companies like Greenstone assist firms and public agencies with their carbon management strategies. Greenstone, according to Verdantix is a company that is putting the heat on market leaders through razor-sharp focus on delivering on carbon management needs, achievement of best-in-class functionality in some areas and convincing carbon management domain expertise, company officials said.

“We are delighted to be recognized in this Verdantix report which highlights the increasing client demand for carbon management software and identifies Greenstone as one of the software providers coming to the fore in addressing these needs,” Matthew de Villiers, CEO at Greenstone Carbon Management, said.
Additionally, Villiers said that organizations are often daunted by the new carbon management requirements and lack the necessary information and decision support tools to address the emerging analysis, reporting and compliance demands.
The combination of Greenstone’s Acco2unt software suite and specialist knowledge provides a comprehensive capability in managing this area and can yield real tangible benefits in addition to cost reductions and compliance, Villiers said.
Acco2unt carbon accounting suite enables emissions measurement and management, reporting and tracking, as well as 'what if' scenario planning and ROI estimation, company officials said.
