has unveiled the eco-friendly “Blue Earth” touch screen mobile phone and, to efforts to launch the new device on a global scale, has partnered with Current Media to promote with a media campaign.

Samsung and Current Media have initiated the Blue Earth campaign using Current Media’s Viewer Created Advertising Messages, or “VCAM,” platform and have invited consumers in the United Kingdom and Italy to produce Samsung Mobile’s next television commercial. Using this marketing platform, Samsung hopes to bring together globally minded creative communities to develop authentic messaging about Blue Earth that would appeal to eco-friendly consumers across the world.
Younghee Lee, vice president of Global Marketing at Samsung Electronics, said that they expect to generate consumer interest on the eco-friendly Blue Earth mobile phone through this campaign. It is essential for them to engage younger environmentally conscious generation with the Blue Earth campaign as the phone can help users protect the environment through smart purchasing. Samsung recognizes their consumer’s needs for eco-friendly mobile phone and will continue to offer a wow experience to their customers and fulfill their unmet needs, company officials said.
Blue Earth mobile phone is made from PCM, a recycled plastic from water bottles and features eco mode for efficiently adjusting screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth usage. The built in “eco-walk” application pedometer calculates how much CO2 emissions users have saved by walking instead of driving. The phone includes a full-touch screen and the latest multimedia features such as a 3.2 megapixel camera, music player and more. It also comes with a five-star energy efficient charger and an additional solar powered charging panel on the backside of the phone.
Current Media has applauded Samsung Mobile’s innovative thinking in leveraging the VCAM to market the Blue Earth phone and the company knew that highly engaged influential consumers will further Samsung’s commitment to eco-friendly initiatives by sharing a genuine perspective for their innovative new product.
