FreeWave Joins Rockwell Automation Encompass Product Partner Program

FreeWave Technologies, a manufacturer of spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical wireless data transmission, reportedly joined the Rockwell Automation Encompass Product Partner Program.

Milwaukee, Wis.-based Rockwell Automation is dedicated to industrial automation and information. Through the Encompass Program, customers can locate complementary products that “best solve” any application challenge. Company officials said that these products are critical components or connectivity solutions that extend and enhance Rockwell Automation installations.

FreeWave is participating as an Encompass Partner in the Rockwell Automation Partner Network. Company is the newest member to join the Encompass program with its solution for Wireless IO and IO Expansion capability using RF technology.

“We jumped at the opportunity to partner with Rockwell Automation for the competitive differentiator this program offers,” said Ken Granader, vice president of sales at FreeWave, in a statement.

Kim Porter, Encompass program manager at Rockwell Automation, said that being an Encompass Partner will offer many opportunities to share company’s solutions within the Rockwell Automation network of customers.

Porter also said that by partnering with Rockwell Automation, FreeWave is eligible for Encompass Partner benefits, such as participation in the Automation Fair. He added FreeWave offers multiple complementary solutions that will be promoted by Rockwell Automation.

Rockwell Automation customers and channel partners now have greater visibility to the extensive product offering and expertise FreeWave offers in the many vertical markets it serves, including oil and gas, water/wastewater, SCADA, automation, wind power, solar, electric power, irrigation, and several additional municipal, industrial and government markets.

“The FreeWave wireless IO products are a perfect complement to our new DataSiteTM RTU/EFM,” said Scott Haddix, global product manager at DataSite in a statement.

Haddix said that rugged environmental ratings and hazardous location certifications are needed for the remote sites where DataSite is installed and FreeWave Technologie success in these difficult applications is well-known.

Earlier in June, FreeWave announced the availability of the LRS455, a licensed radio ideal for rugged and heavily treed terrain applications in oil and gas, water/wastewater, electric and municipality markets.
