York Telecom Delivers Telepresence Solution to Improve Energy Efficiency for EERE

Today, the need to cut down on costs and reduce travel expenses has become critical for businesses of all sizes. Not only does this help companies to survive economic conditions, but the environmental benefits are also critical.

To help the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) improve their communications capabilities while still meeting environmental needs, York Telecom and Tandberg have installed six telepresence solutions at their U.S. locations.

The EERE’s mission is to help strengthen the U.S.’ energy security, environmental quality, and economic vitality through public-private partnerships.

Not only will The EERE have better video communications capabilities with the new installations, but they will also benefit from the ability to have quality face-to-face communications and presentations during important business meetings, since all users will feel as though they are present in the same physical location.

"In a time when the social conscious is heightened and how resources are managed is on everyone's radar, we understand our customers need to have communication solutions designed and built in environmentally and socially responsible ways," said Ken Scaturro, York Telecom's Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development.

"We like knowing that we are working with partners and customers who operate solutions that are making a positive impact on our planet."

Eatontown, New Jersey-based York Telecom provides visual communications solutions and services like Videoconferencing, Streaming Media, Video on Demand, Custom Media Studio and Room Design and Multimedia Network Management for Government, education and medical segments as well as Global 5000 companies.

By offering Tandberg’s Telepresence solutions to EERE, they have allowed the agency to better meet their energy and productivity practices by eliminating the need to travel, and reduce their overall carbon footprint.

Last month, Tandberg (News - Alert) introduced Tandberg Compliance Appliance (TCA), a high volume, always on, compliant recording solution that enables organizations to archive video calls and easily identify content for compliance and auditing purposes.

With the new offering, Finance, Legal/Courts, Education and Healthcare fields that often deal with sensitive customer interactions can better address risk management and compliance requirements as the solution simplifies the process of documenting video conversations.
