Green Technology -GlowPoint Joins Coalition to Support Green Business Technologies

IP-based managed video communications service provider, GlowPoint, has joined the Carbon Free Meeting Coalition in a bid to further focus on green initiatives and promote awareness for green business technologies.

The Carbon Free Meeting Coalition is an organization of companies focused on reducing carbon emissions through the use of advanced communication technologies.

GlowPoint joins the coalition as a Founding Member organization and is focused particularly on the use of video communications as a critical tool in energy sustainability and corporate green meetings.

Stu Gold, Founder and Executive Director of the Carbon Free Meeting Coalition commented, “GlowPoint represents all levels of video communication services, from high-definition Telepresence (News - Alert) VNOC capabilities and IP Broadcasting solutions to traditional video conferencing and web collaboration tools. They are an organization that truly delivers a wide spectrum of advanced communication and network technologies that can easily be integrated into the environmental initiatives for companies around the world.”

Just yesterday, the coalition announced two new programs aimed at expanding “green meeting” technologies for corporations, businesses and organizations of all sizes.  Both new programs, the Kick-Start Clinic and Sustain to Save Program, help companies in rolling out new technologies that reduce their carbon footprint and are available for free to coalition members.

“We are excited to see that the Carbon Free Meeting Coalition has been formed to give a greater voice to these value propositions and are excited to work within the Coalition, and with other member organizations and individuals, to continue to find new ways to implement and support the use of these technologies as part of corporate Green programs," said Jonathan Brust, Glowpoint’s (News - Alert) Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

Earlier this month, GlowPoint made headlines with the announcement that it was awarded a multi-year contract to provide its VNOC managed services for a global electrical energy services provider.
