Green Technology -iLinc to Give Away Toyota Prius at IT EXPO

iLinc is unveiling the latest release of its web conferencing and desktop video conferencing software on display. On this occasion, Frank Gartland, VP of product and technology for iLinc, will be a featured speaker in a roundtable discussion titled, “Unified Communications (News - Alert): The Future of the Industry,” at the Internet Telephony Conference & Expo West, Sept. 16-18, in Los Angeles, Calif.

Offering metrics for the organization as a whole, the iLinc Green Meter is a patent-pending tool that automatically measures carbon emissions, fuel costs and mileage saved per participant, per meeting. The Green Meter comes included with all iLinc web conferencing software products.

The iLinc web conferencing was named one of the “Top 10 Ways to Save the Planet” by PC Magazine earlier this year. The company claims that users of iLinc web conferencing have saved more than two billion pounds of carbon emissions so far.

iLinc’s countless users join hands with colleagues, employees, customers, partners and learners via formal and informal online meetings, virtual classroom sessions, webinars and support sessions across small to large corporate and educational organizations, as well as state and federal government. iLinc is sponsoring the Toyota Prius Hybrid raffle giveaway in celebration of the Green Meter. This will be awarded to one lucky attendee on Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. For a complete list of new and updated features in iLinc 10, visit www.ilinc.com/ilinc10. Demos of iLinc 10 will be available in the iLinc area located at booth 626.

“Since the release of iLinc 10, the most significant release of our web conferencing software so far, response from users and industry watchers alike has been highly favorable,” Gartland said. “Most are overwhelmingly and immediately captured by the new user interface, enhanced multi-person video, increased and more intuitive capabilities and the iLinc Green Meter, our carbon emissions and travel costs embedded calculator.”
