Sage Pro ERP 7.5 Released for SMB Market

Sage Software (News - Alert) has announced the launch of Sage Pro ERP 7.5, the latest version of the company’s business management product for small and medium-sized businesses.

Version 7.5 includes many of what Sage officials say are “user-requested features,” providing tools to “improve business productivity and provide easier access to business information.” Expanded drilldowns in reports are now available, with more customer and vendor maintenance access added to an updated dashboard.

Integration with Sage Payment Solutions is also now offered for handling of customers’ credit card payments. The manufacturing modules in Sage Pro ERP 7.5 have been simplified with time-saving features.

“Sage Pro ERP 7.5 continues this product’s heritage of serving the needs of SMBs who demand a customizable ERP system,” said Sam Hunter, Sage senior vice president and general manager. “It’s a flexible and customizable system available at an attractive price point.”

It has modifiable source code (200 edition), a scalable architecture, choice of operating systems (Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows or Linux), and a set of optional, integrated manufacturing modules, plus integration with other Sage Software end-to-end business management applications and services, including customer relationship management, human resources, fixed asset management, warehouse management and others.

Users can now remotely manage their customers and vendors using an improved dashboard tool that “offers anytime access to customer and vendor files via users’ Internet connections,” the Sagians say. The dashboard can perform customer- or vendor-related inquiries, such as payments, receivables, invoices, and orders.

It also has file security with the ability to restrict access by user to specific program files, for greater security of business application files for customers governed by Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Earlier this month Sage announced the general availability of Sage MAS 90 and 200 ERP 4.3, the latest versions of the company’s flagship ERP products, aimed at the small and mid-sized business owner market.

Version 4.3 provides what the Sagians describe as “enhanced business intelligence functionality, plus other features that help users not only save the environment, but also save money.”

Himanshu Palsule, executive vice president Strategic Business Unit in Sage Software’s Business Management Division, said Sage MAS 90 and 200 Version 4.3 “helps customers create a more environmentally friendly operation with paperless office and other ‘Green’ features.”

The new Sage paperless office features provide users with document imaging and storage, e-mail and e-fax capabilities to cut paper consumption. Users also are able to access files, view reports and forms, and print only pages needed for specific tasks. E-mailing and e-faxing “eliminate wasted paper, toner and postage costs when invoicing customers, communicating to employees or vendors, and sending promotional materials to prospects and customers,” Sage officials say.
