EnviroGuard, a company committed to help businesses deliver environmental, health and safety compliant solutions, has revealed that its current line of spill containment products used in mission critical projects such as telecom platform deployment scenarios now carry the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Listed Mark in Canada.
The UL Certification Category Code for the new Canadian mark is VMXB7 and requires that spill containment systems used in telecommunications battery rooms and similar locations provide a reliable means of containment for hazardous-material liquids in the event of electrolyte leakage from stationary lead-acid or similar battery systems, a press release from the company said.
"The addition of a UL Listing in Canada is just one of the many ways EnviroGuard is being recognized for its reliable and quality spill containment products," said Doug Frazier, president of EnviroGuard, in a statement. "We are honored to carry this rating and to continue our investment in a global presence for safety and containment."
Following this development, the company has labeled its products with the UL Listed Mark, indicating that the product complies with Canadian and U.S. requirements for various mission critical projects. Patented modular lines that now carry the UL Canada Listing include EnviroGuard's Eagle, Condor Plus, Condor Plus Quick Lock and Hawk Spill Containment Systems, for flooded, cabinet and VRLA applications.
The products carrying a UL Listed Mark are monitored by UL's Follow-Up Services program to verify that all products and components continue to be manufactured in compliance with UL safety requirements.
EnviroGuard officials said that their products have been UL listed in the U.S. since 2002 and the company’s entire range of absorbent spill containment pillows have been tested to meet Class 1 fire ratings, as well as carry their own UL recognition to support mission critical data center environments and telecom platform deployment scenarios. In addition, the company also possesses a complete line of NEBS seismic-rated products.
