On-Ramp Wireless Announces Integration with Green Life Networks

On-Ramp Wireless announced its integration with Green Life Networks (GLN), a department of Gemtek (News - Alert) and a provider of wireless broadband solutions.

The combined features of On-Ramp’s Ultra-Link Processing (ULP) wireless system and GLN’s remote sensor platform are supposed to spawn a new landslide sensor for local, state and federal governments.

On-Ramp Wireless explained that with a metro-scale deployment of the Ultra-Link Processing wireless communication system, utilities can deploy one network for all of their distributed monitoring needs. Whether it is for Advanced Metering Infrastructure, fault circuit indicator or Smart Transformer monitoring, or sub-station automation, the extended reach and high capacity of the On-Ramp Wireless’ technology, provides a low cost, secure, flexible, and easy to manage wireless network.

The ULP system can be deployed for automated metering infrastructure, automated meter reading, distribution automation, fault indicators, smart transformers, remote monitoring, sub-station automation and more.

GLN asserted that its wireless sensor products are ideal for monitoring remote and hostile environments. The addition of this line of sensor products, based on On-Ramp’s ULP technology, enables it to provide the largest footprint for remote sensing networks. By deploying a robust, long range sensor network, the company is able to provide the level of detection needed to react to potential disasters before they occur and respond accordingly.

Officials with On-Ramp noted that with the addition of Gemtek Green Life Networks, they continue to expand their list of application partners, bringing their wireless communication solutions worldwide. The landslide detector and other sensor products being developed by Green Life Network will enhance emergency services and maintenance for local, state and federal governments over a wide coverage region at the most cost effective price point of any wireless solution.

The companies stated that the sensor is currently available for sale in the U.S., China and Taiwan.
