An innovative new corporate product developed to help employees set up carpool systems within their own company has been released by Tickengo. The company, which is a social rideshare network, helps setting up effective carpool systems as it connects drivers who have empty seating space in their cars with other passengers travelling to similar destinations.
In a release, Tickengo CEO Jeremie Romand said, "We wanted to make it easy for companies to develop a rideshare program, without developing any software or website. Our goal is to use the power of social web and cloud computing to reduce CO2 emissions and traffic and to improve the way employees interact when they are commuting."
As of now, more than 180 companies have joined the new rideshare program from Tickengo. Once within the program, each company has its own dedicated Tickengo corporate network on the Tickengo website at sfbay.tickengo.com. Employees can simply sign into their company's Tickengo corporate network to seamlessly organize carpools and also earn rewards. Other commuters in the Bay Area and surrounding areas who are interested in taking advantage of the rideshare program have the option of creating free of charge individual Tickengo network.
Some of the companies that registered into the Tickengo rideshare program include names such as Conceptus, Microsemi, Glam Media, Criteo, eMeter, New Relic, SpringAhead, and Sideman & Bancroft.
Michael Canon (News - Alert), sales manager at New Relic in San Francisco said that "Tickengo is a great way to go if you are looking to contribute to our environment, make your everyday commute a pleasant time, and save money on gas.”
The company has provided a brief demonstration of its program, at http://tickengo.com/network/demo
Companies already within the network can partner with other networks within the same geographic locations to enhance and optimize the carpooling systems for their employees. Additionally, companies can add locations and other features and can benefit from promotional assistance provided by Tickengo.
Tickengo makes it easy to set up organize trips and holidays for commuters and extends increased social interaction through its profile pages for users.
