Dimension Data, an ICT services and solutions provider, announced the launch of Sustainable Solutions (News - Alert) aimed at assisting enterprises to strengthen their green initiatives.
The new solutions assist organizations to accelerate their sustainability strategy and manage their greenhouse gas emissions. The launch of the new suite will assist Dimension Data (News - Alert) to focus on the reduction of enterprise travel, energy and waste.
Dimension Data has been focusing on green initiatives for quite some time. The global ICT services company was ranked among the frontrunners in the 2010 Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index for the third consecutive year.
“Business leaders are looking to technology to help them reduce costs and address stakeholder and corporate governance requirements,” said Colin Curtis, director of sustainability at Dimension Data, in a statement. “They recognize the need to better plan, implement, monitor and report on their IT operations.”
The ICT industry contributes significantly to the world’s CO2 emissions. Research by The Climate Group found that by transforming the way people and businesses use technology, this sector could reduce annual, man-made global emissions by 15 percent by 2020.
Dimension Data’s Sustainable Solutions suite consists of a range of ICT solutions and services, which the company will continue to enhance and build upon. The suite addresses areas such as travel reduction, energy efficiency and waste management.
Recently, Advent Software (News
- Alert), a provider of mission-critical applications to investment management organizations, selected Dimension Data to design and build a new converged communications infrastructure that support both traditional on-premise and cloud-based software delivery models.
The company will build a new converged architecture which will offer seamless wired and wireless connectivity and integrate traditional communication tools with new collaboration technologies from any location, using any device and accessing any application throughout the organization.
