The oil and gas well site servicing company Basic Energy Services has selected MiX Telematics to assist with the company's fleet management solutions, MiX Telematics has announced in a press release.
Basic Energy will use the MiX Hours of Service driver key, which is unique to each driver. Even when the vehicle is out of communication coverage, the key collects data from the MiX Display and helps drivers stay compliant with Department of Transportation regulations. By storing timely and important data, the key also acts as a back-up to the server.
“The MiX driver behavior modification solution is the perfect tool to help Basic Energy achieve its fleet management and safety goals with features such as real time audible in-cab driver coaching, driver identification keys, proven electronic hours of service and optional in-cab navigation software," said Brian McCoy, vice president of business development for MiX Telematics North America. "The MiX Display is connected to our FM Communicator that collects driver behavior data and sends the information to our online FM-Web application.”
Enabling the employee to take immediate corrective action, the MiX Display offers in-cab visual and audible alerts that notify a driver when they are driving outside of the company defined safety standards, as part of the product's advanced features. Along with behavior scorecards, safety managers are able to assess any employee's driving history and resolve unsafe behaviors before the driver becomes a danger to himself or other motorists, the company stated in a press release.
Recently, the company launched MiX Display, which is designed for commercial vehicles and is also built to operate in harsh environmental conditions. Also, the robust in-vehicle display features a rugged form, optimized touch-screen, and also has an extensible application framework. It has been developed to integrate seamlessly with MiX Telematics’ fleet management solutions. This multi-purpose device helps commercial fleet operators to boost communication and control, thereby enhancing driver, vehicle and fleet performance besides ensuring safety of drivers.
