ouleX, a provider of sustainable energy management systems, stated that it has forged a data center technology collaboration with Triton Federal Solutions, a PPC company formed to help sensitive and classified customers conceive, build, and run their IT systems.
The agreement enables JouleX to install its JouleX Energy Manager (JEM) technology for commercial and federal customers who want to reduce their energy savings three fold. The partnership is supposed to be beneficial to customers such as the Department of Energy, which is looking for ways to reduce their economic, environmental and social impacts.
Officials with JouleX ascertained that creating improved IT infrastructure efficiencies that lead to significant cost reductions is of growing importance to federal agencies, especially in light of the increased budget pressures they’re facing. Triton’s expertise in decision support, made possible by the energy intelligence their solution generates, provides the Department of Energy and other agencies the efficiencies needed to make a dramatic sustainability impact.
The company explained that the JouleX Energy Manager (JEM) for data centers measures dynamic energy consumption and utilization of any device attached to the network. As a result, JEM for Data Centers enables Load-Adaptive energy management based on the principles of conservation and optimization.
The Data Center Energy Profiler, or DC Pro, is a web-based, decision support system designed to identify how energy is purchased and consumed by data centers and the measures that can be charted to save energy and money as well as reduce carbon footprint. DC Pro was developed by PPC, under the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) and it leverages data center information, including information on the systems that use energy as well as the breakout of dynamic energy consumption that can be provided by JouleX, to create a customized report for each user.
Triton added that JouleX provides an energy management system that will add tremendous value to Data Center Energy Profiler customers. JouleX’s agentless, network-based architecture provides a unique solution for monitoring, analyzing and controlling energy consumption in the data center. JouleX automates the collection of energy information into DC Pro, streamlining the process of diagnosing energy use in the data center, saving time, increasing accuracy, and providing ‘energy-aware’ capacity planning and a baseline for measuring progress over time.
