PDI Launches Cloud-Based Data Center Power Management Software

Power Distribution, Inc. (PDI), a provider of data center power management equipment, alternative energy, industrial and commercial power markets, announced the launch of PDI PowerMap.

“PowerMap streamlines the process of collecting power consumption stats from hundreds of servers while bringing power management right in line with today's preferred method of accessing data – mobile devices,” said Dave Mulholland, vice president of Marketing, Service, PDI, in a statement.

The cloud-based software offering eliminates the requirement for handheld meters because it automatically uploads individual circuit-based power stats.

Besides securing the information in the cloud, users can access charts and graphs through mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops and view phone-bill quality power consumption reports.

“We wanted to come up with new billing methods for our cloud and collocation offerings while addressing the need for even greater accuracy when billing clients for actual circuit usage, particularly when clients were only using a portion of a circuit,” said Luke Norris, founder/CEO of PeakColo, early adopters of PowerMap.

Leveraging PDI's position in the expanding data center market, the new cloud platform increases the velocity of PDI's market penetration in the commercial, industrial, and residential power monitoring markets.

“The PDI team expands their award-winning monitoring products with the introduction of the PDI PowerMap system,” said Jeff Drazan, managing partner, Bertram Capital. “The cloud-based solution allows data center, industrial, commercial, and residential customers to see and manage their power usage instantaneously, off of their mobile devices.
