"Get Started e-Cycling" Kit Launched by e-Cycle

A "Get Started e-Cycling" digital tool kit has been developed by e-Cycle LLC. An environmentally responsible, secure, and profitable wireless mobile phone recycling program can now be initiated and managed by large businesses and organizations. The kit has been developed in response to client feedback and qualitative research done by the company. An announcement in this regard has been made by the top wireless mobile buyback, data protection, and recycling company, e-Cycle.

Representatives from more than 500 top U.S. enterprises were interviewed personally by e-Cycle. There was awareness among organizations regarding the rise in electronic waste in the U.S.

e-Cycle management also discovered that the organizations were aware of the financial and environmental benefits of wireless buyback. However, organizations did not have the knowledge and/or resources to start a secure asset recovery and recycling program. Steve Clark, VP of Sales at e-Cycle, added that a main constraint faced by enterprises in starting a mobile phone recycling program, was mobile data security.

In a release, Clark said, “We found that many large organizations have no official recycling program in place and will either collect retired mobile phones in storage closets or simply destroy the reusable devices for scrap due to data security concerns. These are not best practices from a security standpoint, an environmental standpoint or from a financial standpoint.”

Clark added that 20 times more energy is saved by a wireless device on reuse than simply recycling it for the precious metals. Financial rewards are not reaped by carrier trade-in programs. The stringent data security concerns faced by top enterprises are also not addressed by these programs.

Clark said, “That’s why e-Cycle developed the ‘Get Started e-Cycling’ kit for enterprises. Large companies and organizations have critical security, sustainability, legal, logistical, and financial concerns and questions that need to be addressed before initiating a responsible asset recovery and recycling program—especially in the financial, government, and healthcare industries.”

Clark added that an interactive form is included in the kit. Organizations can therefore identify answers to key logistical questions. The kit also contains a detailed FAQ sheet, data security and environmental protection information, insurance overview, and other helpful documents.
