Ecova, a total energy and sustainability management company, has adopted and implemented comprehensive resource management programs that eventually helped the company to achieve integrated management of various natural and physical resources, as well as identify over $800 million in savings during 2013 for its more than 700 commercial and industrial clients.

The saving is result of Ecova’s comprehensive approach to energy and sustainability management, which combines cutting-edge technology with deep energy and sustainability expertise.

Ecova  advises customers about the competitive marketplace and provide them insight on consumption, cost and carbon footprint data spanning thousands of utilities, hundreds of thousands of business sites and millions of households. The company helps the customers to save money by using the exceptional program strategy that helps clients to save on energy, water, waste, and telecom significantly.

Ecova, the largest non-regulated subsidiary of Avista Corp, has also engaged Verdantix, an independent analyst firm focused on energy, environment and sustainability, to assess and validate Ecova’s approach to measuring the savings its clients achieve. The company offers fully managed, technology-optimized solutions for saving resources, which in turn increase returns, lower risks, and enhance reputations.

David Metcalfe, CEO of Verdantix, said, “Our analysis confirms that Ecova appropriately assesses the direct cost savings and cost avoidance delivered to its clients. Hard data on energy cost savings is an essential proof point to justify further investment.”

Jeff Heggedahl, CEO of Ecova, said in a statement, “Helping our clients save money, energy and other resources is at the core of everything we do at Ecova. Achieving this kind of savings in just one year is important for our team, our clients, and the environment. We look forward to partnering with our utility and commercial clients in the years ahead to make an even bigger impact.”

Bob Valair, Director of Energy & Environmental Management at Staples (News - Alert), an Ecova client for over a decade, said, “Ecova is a true partner that understands our business and is always going beyond their day-to-day commitment.”
