With the world fast moving toward the Zettabyte era and everything being connected to the Internet, the data center industry is faced with a two-pronged challenge of maximizing space utilization and minimizing carbon footprint. Under this backdrop, data center technology firm Servergy has just unveiled the Cleantech Server line with the new CTS (News - Alert)-1000 server.

Research firms have identified skyrocketing energy demands and costs as the number one concern for data center operators globally. As a result, the timing for the launch of this new class of hyper-efficient, high I/O PowerLinux Cleantech Server line for the data center market couldn’t be better.

The uniqueness of this clean and green server lineup lies in its small size and ultra-light weight, which measures 1.75" high x 8.25" wide x 14" deep and nine pounds respectively. These hyper-efficient enterprise servers come with very high energy efficiency as well as very high I/O and compute density.

Based on Servergy’s patented Cleantech Architecture on top of the mature, scalable and data center proven Power Architecture, the Cleantech servers are small and light enough to take up the minimum space in the data centers while they are fast, smart and powerful enough to solve the energy crises created by the rapidly growing world of exploding data.

According to industry watchers, the CTS-1000 server ushers a new era of clean and green class of hyper-efficient, high density, high I/O PowerLinux servers. Despite its small size and weight, it can pack two 10GB and two 1GB ports in a server. It also has embedded accelerators, including an advanced encryption engine, networking offload engine and a pattern-matching engine that can be used for big data applications.

“At just nine pounds with the footprint of a legal pad, the true beauty of the Cleantech Server lies in its unprecedented small size and weight. It is everything this data-hungry, power- and real estate-constrained era of big data and cloud needs to solve the space, I/O and energy crises created by the rapidly growing world of exploding data. Everyone and everything is being connected to the Internet, and the new Zettabyte Era is coming soon, according to Cisco (News - Alert) – with 3.6 billion people online, 19 billion global M2M network connections and 1.4 zettabytes of information being generated online by 2017,” Servergy founder, chairman and CEO Bill Mapp explained in a statement.
