Green technology is the application of one or more of environmental science, green chemistry, environmental monitoring and electronic devices to monitor, model and conserve the natural environment and resources. It also curbs the negative impact humans have on the environment.

Courses that are aimed at developing graduates with specific skills in environmental technology are becoming more common. Green technology classes fall into three classifications:

  1. Environmental Engineering or Environmental Systems. These courses are oriented toward civil engineering in which structures and the landscape are constructed to blend with or protect the environment.
  2. Environmental Chemistry, Sustainable Chemistry or Environmental Chemical Engineering. These courses are oriented toward understanding the effects of chemicals in the environment. Such awards can focus on mining processes, pollutants and commonly also cover biochemical processes.
  3. Environmental Technology. These courses are geared toward producing electronic, electrical or electrotechnology graduates capable of developing devices and artefacts able to monitor, measure, model and control environmental impact, including monitoring and managing energy generation from renewable sources, and developing novel energy generation technologies.

Jain University says it is proud and excited to be offering its students the opportunity to earn degrees in environmental technology
