Modern day mission critical facilities rely heavily on continuous power supply to operate successfully. But with energy becoming dearer and difficult to get, they often struggle to procure the energy required for their operation.

Making mission critical facilities more reliable and efficient, GE has unveiled its new TLE Series uninterruptible power supply (UPS) global platform. The new platform offers up to 97 percent efficiency in double-conversion mode.

Apart from reliability, one of the major advantages offered by GE's new platform is that it reduces system operating costs. Invariably, there are other benefits like clean power quality, including low-input harmonics, high-input power factor and low-output voltage distortion.

GE's new platform is said to be ideal for mission critical facilities such as data centers, healthcare facilities and financial institutions. According to GE, the platform caters to the increasing power demands from users all over the globe. This allows the users to have extreme levels of power density. Consequently, this decreases overall expense of deployment and allows mission critical facilities to run at increased profits.

The new platform offers high (0.99) Input Power Factor, less than 5% Input Current Harmonic (News - Alert) Distortion, and Unity (1.0) Output Power Factor. The dependable platform provides advanced features such as tri-level conversion and provides +/- 25% differential of cable lengths between UPS modules and the output parallel bus.

"GE's TLE Series UPS system delivers highly efficient, reliable power to the critical applications that need it the most," said Riccardo Rutili, UPS general manager, GE's Critical Power business. "By helping to reduce energy consumption in mission-critical facilities such as data centers, hospitals and banks, our TLE Series UPS systems can directly reduce operating expenses for our customers.

Recently, the company partnered with Green Waste Energy (GWE) to supply its ecomagination-qualified Jenbacher gas engines to GWE.
