Seeing is Sustaining

By Peter B. Counter

People want to go green with their lives. Even those who don’t necessarily want to go all the way “green” must see the benefits of a more eco-friendly relationship with the world. The very basis of low-impact living is one that opposes consumption, and when consumption of any sort of resource goes down - you can be sure that the financial savings will be positively affected. Sometimes it’s as easy as knowing your consumptions stats. After all, the best improvements are made when specific targets can be identified.

To this effect, Ecova has sided with the White House. In January of last year the Obama administration launched the Green Button project. It’s an industry-wide initiative to allow energy consumers the information to make changes that can help U.S. citizens change their habits for the better of the planet.

Total energy and sustainability company Ecova, has announced it is committed to the White House’s mission .

On the business front, which accounts for half of the energy usage taken up by buildings, Ecova is offering the Meter Dashboard which will allow for consumption data to be viewed in real time with a variety of visualization options to help clients make the best choices in energy efficiency.

As for the residents who want to attack their environmental impact by reducing their own consumption, Ecova will be reaching them through partnerships with Utilities, aiding in direct installation and energy audit programs made to keep customers aware of exactly what they are using, turning off appliances and shrinking utility bills.

Joining up with the White House on this initiative is the exact sort of undaunted commitment to energy efficiency that put them on last year’s list of ten companies to watch assembled by Goom Energy. In working with the Green Button program, Ecova is taking a more prominent stance in spreading their mission of greater visibility, greater savings, and greater sustainability.
