Rogers Communications (News - Alert) recently announced that Rogers Smart Home Monitoring will now be available to residents of Golden Horseshoe area in Ontario. Customers can manage and computerize their home security, lights, cameras, thermostats and appliances remotely via their smartphone, computer or tablet in a simplified manner, using this ground-breaking, sturdy home security and home computerization control system.

Launched in August 2011, Rogers Smart Home Monitoring was initially available to customers in Ontario who subscribe to Rogers’ network. The dual-network innovative system allows customers to safeguard and link their homes almost effortlessly.

They can also customize the features of the system as per their requirements.

In a statement, Ian Pattinson, VP and GM, Rogers Smart Home Monitoring said, "We're thrilled to now offer Rogers Smart Home Monitoring to residents of the Golden Horseshoe. Since we launched a year and a half ago, our customers continue to discover new system features that keep their homes and families secure while helping them better manage their daily lives for ultimate peace of mind."

Rogers offers protection for the home with the help of a well-known IP-based dual network connection. Water leaks, carbon monoxide levels, cameras, lighting, appliances and thermostat temperatures are tracked remotely by the system.

The system consists of a user-friendly touchpad, offering rapid, single-touch access to home computerization apps, multimedia apps for photos, traffic, weather and sports, and home security functions.

Certified security professionals supervise the Rogers Central Monitoring Station, offering instantaneous tracking services day and night. In the event of an alarm, the touchpad immediately links up with the tracking station. The system sends alerts immediately using text messaging and e-mails.

Individuals can use smartphones, computers or tablets to view and manage the complete system in a protected manner. They can arm/disarm the house remotely as well.

Pattinson said, "Canadians are among the most connected people in the world and are looking for seamless technology that complements their busy lifestyles. For nearly two years, Rogers Smart Home Monitoring has enabled customers to stay connected to their homes and families with a next generation, innovative product that leverages Rogers proven networks and communication expertise."
