Xeros Joins EarthShare to Raise Money for Geological Health, Conservation Efforts

Xeros Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Xeros Ltd., which developed and markets an ultra-low-water cleaning system, has partnered with EarthShare—a Bethesda, Maryland-based federation that manages workplace giving campaigns for its national environmental charities, just as the United Way raises funds for its health and human service charities.

Through this partnership, Manchester, New Hampshire-based Xeros has pledged to further its commitment to protecting the environment and supporting water and energy conservation nationwide in the United States.

"Xeros is proud to be partnering with EarthShare to continue to build awareness of our business and brand," said Bill Westwater, CEO at Xeros Ltd, located at the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom. "EarthShare supports America's most responsible environmental and conservation charities. We're honored to be working with EarthShare to create a better world for all of us to live in."

Backed by 30 years of research, Xeros' environmentally-friendly polymer bead cleaning system delivers superior cleaning performance, decreases costs and lowers a laundry's impact on the environment. The company currently provides its system to in-house laundry operations for the hotel and lodging industry, as well as retail dry cleaners, and plans to broaden its commercial and domestic outreach in the future.

"We were impressed by Xeros' mission to introduce a product that will help commercial and private users reduce their water and energy consumption, and by their commitment to supporting critical environmental issues," said Kal Stein, president and CEO, EarthShare. "We are grateful for their support and excited to work with them toward their goal of introducing a product that can have a positive impact on the environment."

A not-for-profit federation with 25 years of experience in connecting people and workplaces with effective ways to support critical environmental causes, EarthShare has raised more than $300 million for dozens of advocacy organizations, including African Wildlife Foundation, Clean Water Fund, Conservation International, Defenders of Wildlife, Earth Day Network, Earthjustice, Environmenal Defense Fund, Environmental Law Institute, Friends of the Earth, Jane Goodall Institute, Land Trust Alliance, National Audubon Society, National Parks Conservation Association, National Wildlife Federation, National Resources Defense Council, Nature Conservancy, Ocean Conservancy, Oceana, Rainforest Alliance, Rocky Mountain Institute, Sierra Club, Trust for Public Land, Union of Concern Scientists, Wilderness Society, World Wildlife Fund, and many more.

In related news, on January 11, Earthshare was chosen to oversee the 2013 campaign activities of the Washington, DC-based Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA). The CFCNCA is the largest CFC in the United States and one of the largest workplace giving campaigns in the world.

“We are delighted to be working with EarthShare on next year’s campaign," said Dr. Brandon Haller, chairperson of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee that oversees the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA). “EarthShare CEO Kal Stein was a member of the CFC-50 Commission that made recommendations regarding the future of the Combined Federal Campaign. We are looking forward to working with Mr. Stein and his team to enhance our outreach efforts to federal employees and to build upon the strong foundation we have in the CFCNA.”

“We’re honored to be selected for this important responsibility,” said Stein. “Federal employees who make charitable contributions through the CFC are committed to making a real difference in their community and the country. We will support them by making CFCNCA operations as efficient as possible, while also inspiring a new generation of donors.”
