Soraa, the pioneering provider of second-generation LED lighting, today announced the launch of the industry’s first fixture validation program, Works with Soraa, which clears the way for extensive adoption of LED lighting.
Solving the issues on LED lighting compatibility, Soraa takes a lead with the launch of this program, which further validates the widespread usage of LED lighting all across the world. Renowned lighting fixture manufacturers like Dreamscape Lighting, Hevi Lite, Tech Lighting, and Focal Point have joined Soraa to give a kick start to the program.
The lighting industry is facing the biggest hurdle ever – incompatibility between fixtures and LED lamps designed for the traditional light sources. The new Works with Soraa fixture validation program is particularly designed to build and enhance a powerful collaboration between Soraa and the supporting fixture manufacturers, with the aim of rapidly validating the combination of lamp and fixtures for thermal, mechanical, and electrical compatibility. The program is expected to facilitate speedier time-to-market for new lamps and fixtures. As a result, specifiers can particularly specify, and consumers can easily buy and install these validated combinations of LED lamps and fixtures with greater confidence.
Talking about the benefits of Works with Soraa, the chief executive officer, Eric Kim stated that this fixture validation program will benefit the stakeholders in today’s lighting industry, which includes lighting designers, contractors, architects, installers, and consumers. It provides certainty about LED lamp and fixture compatibility, which can intrinsically benefit all in the way of making right investments. Further, this validation program will allow the fixture manufacturers to offer class-apart LED solution in a speedier manner, focusing on what they can do best, i.e., building unique and beautiful fixtures. It is also about ensuring choice and flexibility without compromising with quality and performance, he said.
In this context, Chip Israel, president of award-winning architectural lighting design company Lighting Design Alliance, stated the importance to first solving the issue of LED lamp and fixture compatibility to enable LED lighting sector to achieve sheer acceptance and popularity in the lighting design community today. At the same time, he also congratulated Soraa and the fixture manufacturer partners for efficiently tacking this important problem and encouraging all fixture manufacturers to join the program.
Victor Kelmelis, vice-president of Dreamscape Lighting said that this program will enable the company to validate the compatibility of its products with Soraa lamp, which will simplify the user’s choice for LED lamps and fixtures. He also mentioned that Soraa has been very helpful during the process of initial fixture testing, which will lead the company to validate many of its products in the future.
The fixtures that will be validated during this program will be listed on Soraa’s official website, with a cross-reference to the lamps with which the fixtures have been tested. The fixture manufacturer partners will also catalog the same in their websites.
Soraa is a pioneering name in building lamps using the second-generation LEDs manufactured from gallium nitride substrates, making ordinary lights brilliant, vibrant, and efficient.
