Hitachi (News - Alert) India hosted an Environment Forum on “Green Technology, Clean City” at the Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi recently. The forum discussed the suitability of green technological solutions for meeting infrastructural challenges and urban growth requirements in India.
The forum was inaugurated by P.K. Tripathi, the Chief Secretary of Government of NCT of Delhi and Takeshi Yagi, Honorable Ambassador of Japan to India. The event marked the 60th year of the India-Japan global relationship.
Hiroaki Nakanishi, president of Hitachi, said, “As a corporate citizen, all the employees at Hitachi are sharing the responsibility and accountability and joining such a global effort to improve the world environment and create better life. In 2008, Hitachi set Environmental Vision 2025, our long-term plan for reducing CO2 emissions by 100 million tons by fiscal 2025 through our products and services.”
“We are also aiming to make all of our products and services eco-friendly by fiscal 2025. I am delighted that these activities could also serve the needs of India in its endeavor to create cleaner and greener society,” Nakanishi added.
Hitachi Data Systems (News - Alert) announced that big data and cloud computing have a big potential in India. At a time when most IT firms are witnessing a slowdown, Hitachi Data Systems has been faring well. Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) is also the only vendor to have grown in the last quarter, according to Gartner (News - Alert).
Hitachi has established a strong base in India since its entry. It owns 30 business bases and employs nearly 6,800 people in India. The company deals with information telecommunication systems, power systems, besides air-conditioning systems, construction machinery, industrial, transportation and urban development systems.
The company looks forward to enabling a sustainable society in India by being a part of the country’s economic growth.
As a part of the event, Hitachi put up an exhibition at the forum venue. It displayed eco- friendly products like power station equipment, router switches, air quality control systems, water treatment plant, mass transport system, hybrid excavator and many more.
