CA Technologies Named a Top Vendor in Sustainability Software Buyer's Guide

Islandia, New York-based CA (News - Alert) Technologies, which provides software that helps organizations to manage and analyze their sustainability data, has been named a leader in its field in a report just released by Groom Energy Solutions.

Groom Energy, located in Salem, Massachusetts, has just published its “2013 Buyer’s Guide for Enterprise Carbon Accounting and Sustainability Software.” The report analyzes the market for carbon management and sustainability software as a stand-alone product or as a module of an environmental health and safety (EHS) or energy management suite and provides prospective buyers with a vendor market update.

The selection criteria that Groom used to determine the top vendors cited in the annual directory included: number of customer deployments, technology features, sales momentum, market vision and financial stability.

The report found that CA Technologies (News - Alert) has secured a number of large, high-profile customers and has “strong offerings for sustainability and energy management.”

“The market for enterprise carbon accounting and sustainability software continues to mature and companies are looking for financially viable vendors with world-class products and a strong customer base,” said Paul Baier, report author and vice president, Sustainability Research, Groom Energy. “Based on our research and customer references, we concluded that CA ecoSoftware is a leading carbon and sustainability management product, which has tremendous flexibility and links to energy management.”

According to the report, many corporate buyers expect basic Scope 1 and 2 carbon tracking (respectively, direct and indirect emissions), water and waste modules, and a reporting dashboard, in an easy-to-use, proven system. More advanced companies also expect support for supply chain surveys, energy management, EHS modules and integration with enforcement response program (ERP) systems.

The report also stated that the dominant purchasing drivers for enterprise carbon accounting and sustainability software have remained constant and include:
• Requests from top customers for annual environmental data;
• A desire to enhance company image and increase brand loyalty; and
• Cost savings from improved energy management.

“We are proud to be recognized as a leading provider of carbon accounting and sustainability software solutions,” said Terrence Clark, general manager, Energy and Sustainability Solutions, CA Technologies. “This third-party validation is a testament [to] our commitment to help organizations to manage resources more efficiently for lower costs, reduce environmental impact and accelerate their energy and sustainability management efforts.”

CA ecoSoftware helps customers to automate data collection, reporting, analysis, actions, and align sustainability projects and initiatives with organizational goals.
