Siemens Corporation Picks Allied Electronics as Distributor



Allied Electronics recently inked a distribution agreement with Siemens Corporation, U.S. subsidiary of Siemens AG (News - Alert), to distribute Siemens' low-voltage products including motor controls, pilot devices and communication devices.

Siemens Low and Medium Voltages help clients increase energy efficiency and improve productivity. With these products, clients can avoid expensive power interruptions, equipment breakdowns and start-up costs. The solutions are widely used in an airports, hospitals, data centers, food processing facilitys, shopping centers, homesite and basement remodels. Siemens in the U.S. reported revenue of around $20 billion and employs approximately 60,000 people throughout all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Scott McLendon, vice president of product management and marketing at Allied, said that this new partnership between Siemens and Allied underscores their commitment to industrial automation, one of the fastest-growing segments of Allied's business.

"Providing technology-leading solutions from a global leader like Siemens allows us to better meet the needs of engineers who are constantly challenged to produce efficient designs for ever-changing applications,” McLendon added.

Allied currently has more than two million parts online and more than 110,000 products featured in its catalog and for the first time Siemens will appear in Allied's 2013 catalog, which will be released in October.

Allied Electronics is a small order, high service level distributor of electronic components and electromechanical products with over 50 sales offices across the United States and Canada.
