Smaller Glimpse Downlight Released by Lighting Science Group

Lighting Science Group recently released an enhanced and smaller version of its ground-breaking Glimpse LED downlight. The 4” 9.5 watt Glimpse offers similar lumen output as that of a 50 watt incandescent or halogen bulb.

Glimpse also offers savings of nearly 70 percent in the quantity of raw material required for assembly with its enhanced, unique thermal design. The high level performance offered by Glimpse therefore surpasses the performance of its rivals like Cree, Philips (News - Alert) and GE.

In a release, Jim Haworth, CEO of Lighting Science Group said, “The Glimpse highlights its energy saving appeal by ranking among the ‘greenest’ LED fixtures on the market today. A majority of 4”, 5” and 6” lower-level downlight cans are converted into a performance rich LED accessory by Glimpse LED downlights, which are now available in 4” and 6” sizes. As compared to the conventional incandescent and halogen lights, Glimpse’s LED downlights have 25 time’s longer existence, and also aid in saving energy usage by nearly 80 percent. With 5 percent dimmable capacity, Glimpse offers total control and enhanced energy savings.

Halogen and incandescent bulbs can now be replaced by Glimpse, with its competent, ongoing and progressive design. The easy-to-install Glimpse, which can be installed on a surface as a light accessory, complies with California’s Title 24 Residential Code, thereby proving to be a perfect fit for commercial retrofit or fresh building applications.
