IT solutions provider Accelera Solutions is now the prime contract holder for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Server Hosted Virtual Desktops and Applications (SHVDA) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle.

IDIQ has a five-year performance period with a ceiling value of $25 million at $5 million per year for software, hardware, design services, training and support. The EPA envisions deployment to 9,000 to 12,000 users concurrently during the first three years with a contract capacity of more than 19,000 users.
As per the contract deal, Accelera will design and deliver desktop virtualization and application solution that will establish a standard IT architecture across the EPA enterprise and enable seamless and secure access to Agency information from a variety of end point devices.
The company has brought together a cloud dream-team to deliver desktop virtualization and application solution that will support the EPA’s vision for a standardized IT architecture agency-wide. Solutions and applications include; Citrix XenDesktop for virtualization and delivery of Windows applications and desktops; AppSense Management Suite for the personalization and management of individual profiles and rights; Microsoft (News
- Alert) RDS and VDA licenses to enable use on Windows devices; Citrix NetScaler and Branch Repeater hardware to improve security, traffic optimization and management on VPN; Wyse Xenith and R10L zero and thin clients endpoint devices to provide secured endpoints with lower management requirements and smaller energy footprint and Accelera Engineering Services to support design, training and implementation.
