- Alert), a global networking provider, announced a multi-million dollar contract from Hess Corporation, a global energy company.
Together with software major IBM, Juniper Networks will provide energy-efficient networking services to Hess.
“Today's news broadens our long-term relationship with IBM (News
- Alert) to offer Hess best-in-class, customized networking solutions,” said Liz King, vice president, strategic alliances at Juniper Networks, in a statement.
The network will enable a simplified, automated and secure environment. Juniper Networks and IBM will offer Hess a customized, secure and energy-efficient solution. Hess will incorporate IBM's implementation and staging services coupled with Juniper's integrated switching and security solutions.
“More and more organizations are looking to streamline and improve operations, simplify the implementation process and at the same time be as energy efficient as possible,” said Robb Kaufmann, vice president global alliance solutions, IBM.
“Together with Juniper's innovative technology and IBM services we are proving this is possible with Hess. As our collaboration with Juniper progresses, we are happy to see more and more customers take advantage of our solutions and services,” Kaufmann added.
Both the technology vendors are jointly focused on implementing and delivering tomorrow's networks. Their work with Hess is another proof-point of their committed relationship. Hess is expected to benefit from unrivaled performance, flexibility and security with a small energy footprint.
IBM services are designed to offer a hassle free implementation for new server and networking equipment from beginning to end. IBM can preassemble machines at a staging center, deliver it in an installation ready state and complete the implementation in client facilities.

- Alert) is relying on its routing and switching solution for Metro Ethernet service, designed to address mid-sized businesses in more than 20 major U.S. markets.
Comcast’s Metro Ethernet services provide access to the company’s fiber optic network that provides a better choice for businesses with high-bandwidth needs and multiple locations, company officials said.
