Peter Tarca Takes Helm of PeopleCube's Intelligent Buildings Business Unit

PeopleCube, the world’s largest provider of workplace facilities and resource management software solutions, announced on May 24 that Peter M. Tarca has been named General Manager of its Intelligent Buildings business unit.

Tarca, a 25-year industry veteran with a specialty in cleantech and energy efficiency, will be responsible for all aspects of the Framingham, Massachusetts -based company’s energy management and sustainability solutions business. He will report to PeopleCube President and CEO John T. Anderson.

“Peter’s experience as a senior executive, his track record of sustained business growth, and his passion for global sustainability initiatives give him the tools needed to successfully lead PeopleCube’s Intelligent Buildings business unit,” said Anderson. “He will help extend our portfolio of resource management and business intelligence offerings with energy management and sustainability solutions that companies need [today].”

In February 2011, Tarca joined George Bartley of Building Sustainability Ltd, to present a PeopleCube-sponsored webinar on The Business Advantages of the Green Intelligent Building . The following month, Building Sustainability Ltd., based in Hove, England, signed an agreement enabling PeopleCube to sell, market, and distribute the Workplace Footprint Tracker in North America. When the Tracker is used in conjunction with PeopleCube’s  Resource Scheduler, it enables heating and lighting of a workspace to be controlled by, for example, the meetings schedule. It will also provide energy information to PeopleCube’s Workplace Business Intelligence visualization tool.

Tarca previously served as CEO of three different Massachusetts-based businesses:  Proliphix Inc., a developer of native Internet Protocol distributed energy management solutions, based in Westfield; InterSense, Inc., a provider of tracking, navigation, visualization, and stabilization applications headquartered in Billerica; and Vibrint Technologies, a supplier of broadcast digital equipment and new technologies based in Bedford.

Tarca managed the turnaround and growth of InterSense’s motion-tracking solutions business, and was responsible for the advancement and ultimate sale of digital broadcast video pioneer Vibrint.

“It’s exciting to join a company that is so well-positioned to become a leader in the growing industry of software for visualizing and mitigating energy consumption,” said Tarca. “With its real-time visibility into when, where, and how energy is consumed, and the corresponding automated management of consumption, PeopleCube’s energy management solutions can deliver significant energy efficiency and sustainability benefits to its customers.”

Tarca earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Central Connecticut State University and completed the High Technology Management Program at Northeastern University.
