From 'Gone to Seed' to Going Green: Plant Cloning Device Typifies Detroit's Turnaround

The green economy has taken root and is being actively cultivated in Detroit, a town that is becoming a mecca for urban gardening, EVs, smart grid trials, and clean-tech startups.

Among the upcoming local entrepreneurial stars is an innovative green technology company called Plantation Temptation, located in Lapeer, Mich., about an hour’s drive outside Detroit. This company has created a home deep water culture (DWC) bubbling clone device. It enables you to create clones of your plants for hydroponic indoor growing. The unit is small and portable -- suitable for apartments, dorms, lofts, and tight living situations.

The company claims that it will “create organic produce by the bushels,” and that consumers can grow their own organic food crop—lettuce, fruit, vegetables— right in the kitchen and take a big bite out of their grocery bills.

What’s more, the bubbler cloning device is made from recycled material. Its plastic construction is safe for the environment and will not leak dangerous chemicals into the food it produces.
