Cyber-Rain Brings Smart Irrigation in the Palm of Your Hands

The provider of smart sprinkler controller systems to the residential and commercial markets, recently launched an innovative green home automation tool, called XCI Cloud.

According to Cyber-Rain, hundreds of millions of gallons of water are wasted every year because plants get watered when they don't need to be. The company claims that its easy-to-use Internet-based smart sprinkler controller systems reduce landscape water usage by 30-70 percent by automatically adjusting for local weather conditions. Cyber-Rain uses a technology that enables users to water only when it's necessary, by using Internet-based weather data.

The company claims to have helped in saving nearly 120 million gallons of water. In a press release, the company explained that the newly launched product will allow home-owners and commercial property-managers to manage an unlimited number of controllers through any Internet-connected computer.

Through a dashboard based comprehensive reporting capability,  XCI Cloud will allow the users to monitor and control watering. By allowing access to critical data in an easy-to-read format from any location, the application will help users know how much water (and money) they are saving. It also allows users to create an efficient watering schedule Users can create efficient watering schedules that can be customized to their landscape, through an intuitive and easy to use interface.

For the iPhone (News - Alert) users, Cyber-Rain offers a free app that allows customers control their watering from their hand-held devices.

“What we are providing is smart Irrigation in the palm of your hand. XCI Cloud gives property owners and managers a graphical tool that lets them manage watering from any Internet-connected computer in the world…and even through an iPhone app. Users can create efficient watering schedules – that are customized to their landscape – through an intuitive interface that is easy to use. One of the biggest innovations of XCI Cloud is a comprehensive dashboard-based reporting capability that lets users know how much water (and money) they are saving. We track usage not only by property, but also by zone, which allows property managers and owners to maximize their watering efficiency. We also provide users comprehensive reporting on everything from valve diagnostics to detailed logs of all irrigation activity,” Cyber-Rain CEO Diana Schulz explained in a statement.

Last month Cyber-Rain appointed sales, marketing and product management veteran Ben Jamison as chief revenue officer to oversee all of the company’s sales and marketing activities.
