Owner of Proshred Franchise Acquires Secure e-Cycle in Green Technology Merger

Todd McCullough, the proprietor of the Proshred Security document shredding franchise in Missouri and Kansas, has acquired Secure e-Cycle, involved in secure destruction as well as responsible recycling of legacy IT and electronic equipment for over 10 years.

This acquisition, combined with Proshred, will help McCullough offer Midwest companies a one-stop place for all their data destruction as well as recycling requirements, from paper to printers.

In a release, McCullough said “This move puts Secure e-Cycle in position to respond to the requests of businesses and individuals who are concerned about protecting the environment from unnecessary waste. Paper shredding has become commonplace, and this is the logical next step. As companies upgrade their computers and other electronics, they need a responsible way to dispose of their old equipment. With recently enacted government legislation such as HIPAA and FACTA, combined with industry-specific regulations that govern how consumer information is managed, businesses must be able to prove that they are properly handling the complete destruction of client data and the responsible disposal of equipment.”

Secure e-Cycle will offer services in the removal and recycling of electronic equipment for small and medium-sized businesses the Midwest region. Secure e-Cycle provides a unique comprehensive process of data destruction, recycling, as well as remarketing, which is managed by a proprietary asset tracking and reporting system. McCullough’s business focuses on securely destroying all data, generating a return on remarketed equipment, as well as a zero-landfill policy. His business provides an on-demand reporting tool along with a Certificate of Destruction and a Continuity of Ownership document that ensures that every single asset is handled in accordance with all stipulated regulations and laws.

When Secure e-Cycle receives end-of-life and excess equipment from a company, it does an initial diagnosis to check if the equipment can be reused and resold to schools, nonprofits or other organizations. In case the equipment is resold, Secure e-Cycle will share the resale revenues with the customer company to compensate asset disposal costs If the equipment is not resold, they are disassembled and recycled.

During the recycling, all electronic data will be destroyed and asset tags as well as customer’s proprietary labels or markings will be removed, and raw materials will be segregated and shredded into tiny pieces. The materials will be bifurcated by component using calibrated separating machines so they can be sold and transformed into raw materials that can be reused in the manufacturing stream.

Secure e-Cycle provides regular equipment pick-up in any place in Missouri or Kansas.
