Energy data management solutions vendor Calico Energy Services has announced that it received financial backing from Point B Capital and hired the firm to provide strategic consultation to accelerate the company's growth. The energy firm did not specify, however, how much money Point B has invested.
Calico said it will use the money to accelerate growth, while leveraging the Point B’s broad portfolio of management consulting services.
“In addition to the capital investment that Point B Capital has made, Point B brings significant strategic value to our company,” said Michael Miller, president and COO of Calico Energy Services, in a statement. “Through the domain expertise of more than 400 consultants, Point B will help Calico continue to elevate our level of execution, accelerate our velocity, and maximize our spectrum of opportunity.”
Calico offers a secure software platform that simplifies smart grid data management and services, providing customers with energy intelligence, improved efficiency, reduced costs, and increased profit through a unified solution.
Calico said it evaluated potential investors and ultimately selected Point B Capital because of its consultation expertise.
Based on a thorough review of Calico’s management team, products, technology, and go-to-market strategy, Point B Capital said it determined that Calico aligned extremely well with their investment criteria and focus.
