Hughes Telematics' In-Drive Named Winner of Atlanta Business Chronicle's 2011 Environmental Awards



Hughes Telematics’ aftermarket solution, In-Drive, has won the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 2011 Environmental Award, in the Enpact category.

“We are delighted to be named the winner of this award in our home city of Atlanta,” said Fred Blumer, vice president of aftermarket and data services at HTI, in a press release. “In-Drive is a robust solution offering environmental benefits to users and the community.”

This award recognizes an outstanding program or initiative that significantly curbs pollution in metro Atlanta.

Drivers, through n-Drive are able to conveniently receive a set of connected vehicle services, including a revolutionary emissions feature that continuously and proactively monitors the vehicle’s emission status. They are also allowed to take corrective action, in case their vehicles become non-compliant with emissions standards or show a decline in performance.

The aftermarket solution, In-Drive also boasts of its Carbon Footprint feature. This particular feature offers a user-friendly graph that is used by the drivers to analyze their vehicle’s daily output of carbon dioxide. In short, it provides further emissions information to drivers.

Atlantans, by using Hughes (News - Alert) Telematics’ In-Drive solution to monitor vehicle pollutants, are equipped with the “green” tools they need to help curb the city’s concern with air quality.  

In-Drive not only highlights eco-friendly features, but also offers a variety of additional connected services, including emergency response, vehicle diagnostics and family monitoring.
