JAOtech, a provider of bedside smart terminals for hospitals, will introduce a large screen, ultra-thin medical LED TV that is equipped with a built-in computer.
Primarily targetted at healthcare applications such as patient entertainment and clinical access, the new LED TV named Inix features a 40-inch screen, and will be launched in North America at HIMSS 2011 in Orlando, Fla., this February. Apart from it, JAOtech will also launch a number of other new products within its Arcos accessories range that include multimedia wall boxes and arms that can be deployed in bedside cabinets.
Engaged in the design and manufacture of embedded Smart Terminals, JAOtech offers patient entertainment and point-of-care terminals that are UL compliant, and claim more than 40,000 installations in hospitals worldwide. Its offerings include a wide portfolio of interactive healthcare applications providing secure access to Electronics Medical Records (EMRs) and offering triple-play solutions for patient entertainment.
The new Inix Smart HD LED TVs by JAOtech has been developed for the medical environment and features an IP rated waterproof screen that has been tested against hospital cleaning agents. It is equipped with a fan-less embedded computer that is powered by the Intel (News
- Alert) Atom processor technology and consumes low electric power. The Inix LED TV supports full high-definition 1080p resolution, and is reasonably slim with a thickness of just 1.6 inches. It is compatible with the latest gesture remote control offered by JAOtech, which has a full keyboard on the back, and its existing Wyki wireless keyboard as well.
JAOtech will also demonstrate its new offerings within the Smart Terminal accessories range, such as the Arcos 8250 multimedia wall box that enables wireless LAN and Ethernet connectivity to allow patients and hospital staff to use their own laptops on the ward alongside the terminals.
In March 2010, JAOtech Ltd. announced the opening of its U.S. headquarters in Trumbull, Conn. The facility serves as JAOtech’s sales, marketing and technical support center for the United States and Canada.
