Horst Hummel, a co-founder of internet agency, the Greener IT, has recently published his predictions with regard to the rise in green businesses.
According to Horst Hummel there will be three major developments in the year 2011 and a large number of businesses across Europe will go green by adopting green policies. Hummel is a UK based Business Analyst.
The three major developments will include a rise in popularity of the electric car, wherein the major businesses such as airlines and roadways are opting for acquisition and use of bio fuels in order to follow greener measures. This will definitely lead to a trend of using more electric cars in the market.
Horst Hummel has quoted the new glossy ad for the Nissan Leaf as a prime example, as it promises the users the beginning of a “new motoring era.” Hummel believes in the electric car; however, he does concede that it may take a few years for the market to gather pace.
The second major development will involve a record rise in oil prices, in spite of the fact that oil prices have been relatively stable over the past 12 months; there have been no definite oil finds recently. Hummel believes the stability is down due to a fall in demand. A rise in the economy will lead to the increase in the demand for oil which can be seen given that current prices have reached $92 a barrel.
The third major development will include the “greenest government ever” who will need to deliver, as well as follow the “Green deal makeover scheme” seriously. Hummel also argue that a coalition that has made so many green promises for 2011 will surely need to come through if they are to be taken seriously.
