Cyber Switching Integrates Updated Firmware into ePower Series



A provider of power distribution and power management products, Cyber Switching recently released csLinux 2011.01, the latest firmware for its award-winning ePower series intelligent power distribution unit (iPDU).

Named, csLinux 2011.01, the firmware updated features with several enhancements, including: 5x performance increase for power measurement updates, support for Cisco (News - Alert) EnergyWise v2.5 with individual outlet management, additional CLI targets for managing outlets, banks, and inputs Updated CLI online help with examples, improved system stability, a full description of all features can be found in the ePower User Manual, available for download from Cyber Switching's website.

For record, ePower was launched in 2010 and awarded the 2010 Best of INTEROP Green Award. The solution with innovative power management features is widely employed to help keep data centers "green."

In the release, Cyber Switching announced that ePower units ordered after Jan. 5 will be preloaded with its latest firmware version.

Those customers with existing units already deployed are invited to upgrade their units software by logging into the ePower's Web interface through an administrator account and choosing the Upgrade option from the System > Maintenance section.

The upgrading process will require a valid Internet connection and 15-20 minutes time, depending on the speed of the connection. Outlet states will not be affected during this upgrade process, the company ensured.

Cyber Switching ePower products are available direct or through Cyber Switching resellers worldwide. Cyber Switching products are backed by a standard two-year warranty, complete with customer support via telephone and email.
