Arizona Technology Council Foundation will be hosting a Technology Recycling Day on Saturday the Jan. 22 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM throughout the state of Arizona.
This is an endeavor to provide Arizona consumers and businesses with a safe, green and secure solution to dispose off their computer, medical hardware, manufacturing and other electronic equipment and upgrade their devices. This will be a convenient solution besides being easier and environmentally friendly.
The initiative will be supported by Data Doctors and Westech Recyclers and the Council Foundation will be accepting tax deductible donations and provide receipts at major drop-off locations in the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas or at any Data Doctors location in Arizona, including Flagstaff, said official sources.
Also, it was revealed that all donated equipment will be handled through the Arizona Technology Council Foundation’s Tech Terra Program. This partnership with Westech Recyclers supports Arizona educational programs and donates equipment across the state.
Steven Zylstra, president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council, said in a release, “As the cycle of technology innovation continues to accelerate, it is more important than ever to recycle efficiently and properly. Our free service can safely recycle anything from PCs to main frames and about everything in between.”
The electronic equipment and components that will be acceptable for drop-off includes personal computers, computer peripherals, networking equipment, main frames, servers, point-of-sale equipment, printers, audio/visual and telecom devices, surplus metals, wire, cable and power strips. The list also includes miscellaneous electronic items like test and/or lab equipment, added the council sources.
Tom Holland, business development manager, Westech Recyclers, an Arizona Technology Council member company added, “Every day, individuals and organizations dispose of mountains of e-waste, containing hazardous and toxic materials that pose significant environmental risks.”
Westech has more than 15 years of experience serving the community. The company strives to recycle materials via an environmentally secure process that makes possible the best re-use of electronic equipment. It also recycles unusable items to keep them out of landfills, he noted.
The Arizona Technology Council is a private, nonprofit trade association that helps connect, represent and support the state’s expanding technology industry. The Council provides members with networking opportunities, business support and access to educational forums enabling them to promote economic growth in the state besides enhancing professional development in technology.
