CME Group, a diverse derivatives marketplace, has selected RF Code’s wire-free environmental solution to provide real-time environmental monitoring of data center facilities, RF Code announced.
Companies can now affordably, quickly and easily instrument the data center with real time environmental monitoring from RF Code. The company’s “peel and stick” approach eliminates the need for expensive-to-purchase, install and maintain wired solutions, with the flexibility to easily install environmental monitoring anywhere, according to the company.
CME Group has already implemented more than 3,500 temperature/humidity sensors in its production data center and co-location facility as well as in other data center locations. Also, to track the entry/exit of its Performance Optimized Data Centers (PODs) and self-described, one-of-a-kind thin film fluid detection sensors underneath the floor and around CRAC units, CME Group will also deploy RF Code door contact sensors.
“CME Group is noted for its foresight in implementing emerging technologies that provide real impact to a business,” said Mitch Medford, CEO, RF Code. “We are pleased to have such an organization as one of our top customers. Their reputation as a technology leader and innovator is a de factostamp of approval that newer, wire-free solutions are bringing the future to today’s most modern data centers.”
With the help of RF Code’s solution, CME Group personnel can view any and all global environmental events from a single dashboard in their local offices and their Technology Operations Control Center (TOCC). The software provides both a visual documentation of environmental issues as well as the ability to run customized reports, the company stated in a press release.
Recently, the company announced that its wire-free environmental sensor-based monitoring solution has been integrated into Modius Inc.’s OpenData platform, according to company officials.
The integrated solution, which is available now, is the first initiative that was developed from the form data center efficiency partnership between both the companies. The wire-free active sensor-based software solution from RF Code not only monitors, but also alerts about a broad range of environmental factors.
