Green Tech: NCE Wraps up Yet Another WRAP Award

NCE's commitment to the environment friendly business practices has given a tremendous boost to its 'Green Message.’ No stranger to 'Green recognition,’ NCE Computer Group USA has tucked another award under its belt, when it earned the distinction of becoming one of 285 California businesses and nonprofit organizations to be named a 2010 WRAP, Waste Reduction Awards Program winner.

The Waste Reduction Awards Program is administered by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery. WRAP provides an opportunity for California businesses and nonprofit organizations to be recognized for the tremendous commitment towards reducing waste. WRAP is an annual program to recognize California businesses that have made outstanding efforts to reduce the waste that goes to our landfills.

NCE Computer group has many credits to its name in the 'Green Industry'. As an independent data center services provider based in El Cajon, both the U.S. and European facility has been ISO 14001 certified since 2007. It has been recognized both locally and statewide for its efforts to reduce, reuse, recycle, and buy only recycled, a clear indication that it takes the business of waste reduction very seriously.

The company's environmental policy has resulted in huge cost savings. In fact, collectively, this year’s WRAP winners have reported a diversion of over two million tons from the landfills and more than $190 million in cost savings, which is a considerable achievement.

Additionally, the proceeds from the re-cycling activities are directed towards funding employee events, ensuring maximum participation and employee buy-in. Through its broker sales and PEP divisions, NCE diverts surplus and unused IT equipment into the second-hand market. This prevents thousands of pounds of waste from being sent to landfills every year. The estimate for 2009 exceeds 100,000 pounds of material, resulting in additional revenues and cost saving of over $300,000 for the same year.

In a related news release, NCE Computer Group, Europe Ltd., announced it’s recognition for commitment to conserving the environment by achieving accreditation to the ISO 14001:2004 standard.
