Camstar Systems, Inc., a provider of solutions for manufacturing execution, process planning, enterprise quality management and supply chain intelligence, has announced that MiaSole, a manufacturer of Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic solar panels, has selected its SolarSuite enterprise software platform, which has been installed throughout its entire Solar manufacturing value chain.
MiaSole has achieved high growth rates recently, and the company leverages its scalable manufacturing platform to improve product quality and reliability, and quickly develop, roll out and enforce enhanced methods across new lines and plants.
The SolarSuite enterprise software platform by Camstar features new packaging options scale with solar companies from startup to global enterprise, and is equipped with expanded enterprise-caliber capabilities for global manufacturers with multiple locations or outsourced operations.
The solution is capable to support very complex manufacturing processes that span all solar technologies, and offers enhanced levels of augmented Platform configurability and usability to allow users to quickly adopt the solution with minimal training, which helps them realize benefits earlier. It simplifies integration with a wide variety of machine, equipment, and tool interface protocols used in automated factories.
Various solar manufacturers have expressed high enthusiasm for the SolarSuite platform and have been able to quickly achieve commendable results with it. A well known CIGS module manufacturer increased its asset utilization by 12 percent, while a CPV and multi-junction solar cell manufacturer increased conversion efficiency by around 38 percent.
The platform enhances overall product quality throughout the product lifecycle, right from design to planning to supply to manufacturing to customer product experience. It functions within a closed-loop learning process which helps in enhanced design of future products and implementation of efficient manufacturing processes.
