Toyota RAV4 Electric Vehicle to Arrive at Dealership in 2012

Auto dealer Atlantic Toyota announced that new Toyota RAV4 EV is slotted to arrive at its dealership in 2012. The official release of the much-awaited Toyota electric vehicle was announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The latest release marks the brand’s second generation release of the electric vehicle, with the first generation RAV4 EV released in 1997. The automaker announced that in its latest version, the car comes with several modifications. According to the auto maker, itwas designed to ensure the RAV4 EV’s upgraded drivability is a part of the customer’s Toyota experience. In Toyota Atlantic’s opinion, the latest RAV4 EV model reflects the auto manufacturer’s efforts at pushing the boundaries for a more economical society.

“From the beginning, the customer experience has been the focus. In other words, how do we deliver an unconventional product to mainstream customers that is compelling and affordable and that offers an acceptable level of daily convenience,” said Jim Lentz, president and chief operating officer of Toyota Motor Sales, at the show.

Toyota announced during the auto show that the initial evaluation program will be conducted throughout 2011. During this span of time, Toyota will build a total of 35 vehicles exclusively for demonstration purposes. The goal is to have the fully engineered RAV4 EV arriving in 2012. A wide range of climates and conditions will be tested against the performance of the new Toyota RAV4 EV.

For the knowledge of its customers and Toyota fans, Atlantic Toyota informed that in its newest model, RAV4 EV, comes with several stylish exterior changes. The changes include a new front bumper, grille, fog lamps and head lamps.

Also, the Toyota RAV4 EV comes with a custom “mutually exclusive” paint color to complete the renovation of the second-generation RAV4 EV. The interior will feature custom seat trim, multimedia dash displays, push-button shifter and dashboard meters.

Another interesting point relates to its roomy cargo space. Atlantic Toyota said that in RAVA EV, no cargo space was lost in the shift to an electric powertrain vehicle as the RAV4 EV has 73-cubic-foot cargo area with the rear seats folded down.

Interested Toyota enthusiasts are invited by Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota to its dealership so they can experience the great new options and characteristics which, according to the Toyota dealer, make the fuel economy and drivability of this RAV4 EV revolutionary.

Earlier this month, Toyota announced that it was going to conduct a limited trial of its iQ EV model in Europe from next year. In a release, the auto maker noted that it expected to launch the alternative fuel vehicle to fleet customers from 2012 in the U.S., as well as other markets.
